it’s really just one big circle-jerk of underlying racism
if both stop doing the fuck shit, it’d end.
but i doubt that’d happen
and i now have people reblogging my post telling me i’m wrong
but… am i?
this shit goes back to the days and shuckin’ and pickin’… they make us their puppets… we’ve accepted the positions… then they wanna turn around and do what we do and think it’s cute
then people wanna tell me that if black folks stopped making puppet moves, the white folks wouldn’t have anything to emulate
but who do we as black people emulate? the white people? the ones copying us? does that make sense?
and know that i’m not talking about all black people… we’re not all “bad” or “ratchet” or “ghetto”, whatever… but a barking dog gets the bone, right?
idk. who do we get mad at? who are you really mad at?

i don’t know who’s more of a detriment to the whole black collective
amanda bynes
miley cyrus
kim kardashian
or some other non-black person desperate to be black…
I’m trying to understand what Black people any of these white ladies are a detriment to. Nobody’s seen Worldstar Hip Hop? THAT, IMO, is more of a detriment to us as a ‘collective’ than any of these white ladies ever could be……
black people harming black people is the obvious… the fact that i’ve already had 3 people tell me “no, the white people aren’t a problem” in more or less words really has me thinking… are we generally okay with them appropriating things from our culture, as small and/or seemingly meaningless they may seem?
WSHH and the likes are an issue— never denying that, i don’t fuck with WSHH, going to that site just provides more traffic it doesn’t need, which encourages it to keep doing stupid shit.
there are some black people who are just going to continue doing what they do, breeding generation after generation of WTFery and no matter how much you protest and try and get the word into them, they’ll just turn deaf to it all. sadly, they are the lost causes… you cannot change a history of bad behaviour in one person overnight, not gonna happen. but like any good rehabilitation, if you take something negative away, you’ve gotta replace it with a positive stimulus else they fall back into their ways…
now, like i mentioned to someone else, white folks think many things that black people do are trendy and popular, hip and cool, and they wanna get in on it… there’s no denying that— the same debates go ‘round and ‘round re: dreads, twerking, AAVE, fashion, etc etc— somewhere, someone said that it’s okay for doing those things, for the sake of fashion and what-not… but black people doing them? nope.
my main issue is really just those particular white people, and all white people, taking things black people do as a joke, something for them to make a statement with… they wanna have some kind of deep and meaningful life experience or change… why do they need to go to places heavily-populated by PoC? why do they have to take their customs etc etc…
you can’t tell me that iggy azelia’s “bounce” video did not make you look at her and shake your head— TF does her being in india, wearing a sari and a bindi have to do with the lyrics to the song???
when miley made her “wop” video in her froggy kigurumi, most people were giving her props? why? she wasn’t good, she looked goofy… but you got girls out there, black and brown girls doing it while fully-clothed, and getting ridiculed and sexualized???
brittney and justin wore full-denim outfits to an award show years ago, they’re setting trends… why is that?
the long point of my original post was basically why when someone who’s white do it, it’s aiight… but a PoC does the same thing and they get side-eyed? who is telling these white folks it’s okay to be black… but telling black folks they need to stop being black and “be more civilized” aka “more white”? it’s so ass-backwards…
yes, sure, one could argue that this would stop if we as black people stopped— if we as a collective stopped going to sites like WSHH, stop treating each other disrespectfully, we strived for betterment, then white folks would stop making a joke out of us.
but once again… whenever i post a thought on this site, i get attacked… like am i really that wrong? is it wrong for me to say that miley needs to stop the fuckery? go watch her latest music video and tell me that ain’t some ol’ bullshit…
